Maria Goodloe-Johnson (Download MP3 file; 19 MB)
Maria Goodloe-Johnson has served as superintendent of Seattle Public Schools since 2007. She is the former superintendent of Charleston County School District in South Carolina and assistant superintendent of Corpus Christi Independent School District in Texas. A former trustee of Learning Forward, Goodloe-Johnson is the recipient of The Superintendent of Education Excellence award from Mt. Pleasant District AME Hall of Fame.

Milton Chen (Download MP3 file; 18 MB)
Milton Chen is the Senior Fellow and Executive Director Emeritus of the George Lucas Educational Foundation. Chen also served as the founding director of the KQED Center for Education in San Francisco, and as director of research at Sesame Workshop. His book, Education Nation: Seven Leading Edges of Innovation in Our Schools, published in July 2010, examines ways in which learning can be revolutionized through innovative reform and the use of technology.

Jennifer James (Download MP3 file; 23 MB)
Jennifer James is an urban cultural anthropologist, lecturer, commentator, and writer. Her work specializes in the cultural elements of technological change and marketing intelligence. She has published seven books and filmed two PBS specials, and is the founder of the Committee for Children, a non-profit organization that for 25 years has developed curricula for the protection of children and alternatives to violence.

Vicki Phillips (Download MP3 file; 17 MB)
Vicki Phillips is the director of education for the College Ready United States Program at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Phillips oversees work to improve early learning in Washington State, ensure U.S. high school students graduate ready for success in college, career, and life, and to improve college access. Phillips also served as superintendent of Portland Public Schools in Portland, Oregon, and as secretary of education and chief state school officer for the state of Pennsylvania.

Taylor Mali (Download MP3 file; 20 MB)
A vocal advocate of teachers and the teaching profession, Taylor Mali spent nine years in the classroom, teaching English, history, and math. He has performed and lectured for teachers all over the world, and his New Teacher Project has a goal of creating 1,000 new teachers through "poetry, persuasion, and perseverance." He is the author of two books of poetry and four CDs of spoken word. |
