Call for Articles

Theme: Outcomes
Manuscript deadline: Feb. 15, 2012
Issue: October 2012

In this issue, JSD editors will explore what it looks like when Learning Forward's Outcomes standard is realized in schools, school systems, and other education organizations. The Outcomes standard encompasses meeting educator performance standards, addressing student learning outcomes, and building coherence across systems. For this issue, JSD editors will consider articles that address these questions and other related themes:
  • How do educators and school systems address standards for both educators and students?
  • How does professional learning tied to specified outcomes ensure improved results for students?
  • What contexts and supports enable educators to address student standards? What leadership practices ensure educators meet performance standards?
  • How do schools and school districts build coherence from one professional learning or school improvement initiative to another?
  • What examples of school- or district-based learning demonstrate the key role of attention to student and educator outcomes in improving student results?
JSD editors are always concerned with articles that show evidence that the professional learning described leads to improved student outcomes.
